New Year's Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions

I didn’t make a New Year’s resolution this year. I recalled all of the resolutions I would proudly proclaim on December 31st, only to be broken within three weeks

This year instead of talking about what I’m going to do I decided to put my words into action.

In 2008 I failed to complete my third book. The second installment for the Nazareth Heights series is still in progress. Instead of proclaiming a lofty goal for my third book I just began to write. I did not set a particular time frame for my writing schedule; some days I may write for ten minutes and other days my writing schedule could last for two hours and beyond. If I remain consistent with my personal goal for 2009 I am guaranteed to see a successful end result in 2010.

Many have set personal agendas for 2009. Our objectives may result in us taking just short, baby steps toward completely our annual task. If we just begin with the first step, 2010 will surely reveal the fruits of our labor in 2009.

Proverbs 14:23
All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

New Year's Makeover

NEW YEAR’S MAKEOVER

In 2009 I felt that I was in need of a serious makeover. But not the typical makeover of the external, (of course there’s always room for improvement in that area). But a makeover and refreshing of the internal man. My mind, heart, and soul are in need of a bit of a nip and tuck.

When we look through the beauty magazines external beauty is in display in abundance. Beauty magazines offer us advice and products to guide us towards making us the most beautiful person we can possibly become. However, if our soul, mind, and body are not properly aligned with our Creator, we become just another pretty face.

Have you ever had the opportunity to be in the presence of someone who has a solid divine identity? Everything about them radiates and shines, and it seems as if they are illuminating the entire room.

This person is certain of their Heavenly gifts, purpose, and their unique position in the universe. They are not concerned about the trends of this world, because they know that worldly trends are frail and finite, and they understand who they are and whom they belong to.

They may or may not be what society deems as “beautiful” and, yet, being around them is captivating because they radiate a divine glow that makes them absolutely stunning.

This type of beauty is the Heavenly peace and blessings that only comes from God. There is no cosmetic company in the world that can bottle this special formula for genuine beauty of the mind, heart, soul, and spirit. This type of allure is easily achieved by having a daily walk and relationship with your Heavenly Father. This is a divine beauty that does not fade throughout time.

Proverbs 31:30 (New International Version) Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
