Spiritual Eyes

I am thrilled to introduce the first installment, of a series of inspirational novellas entitled “Spiritual Eyes”. The inspirational novellas are narratives that explore the spiritual core of the human condition. There is a time, in all of our lives when we come face to face with our “spiritual man.” At this stage in our journey we begin to ask the poignant questions about our existence. Like… who am I? Why am here? What is my purpose or divine destiny? These are the questions that have been the inspiration for the plot and themes of the inspirational novella series.

"Spiritual Eyes” took three years to write, compared to my debut novel, Nazareth Heights; which only took one year and six months to complete. And I must say, my heavenly Father would not allow me to release this story until I understood the complexity, and full meaning of this simple, yet intense tale.

So, at last, the book that was stuck in my computer for three long years has finally sprung to life. And I am thankful, yet again, to my creative director, my heavenly Father, for the privilege for allowing me to become the author of one of His stories.

Synopsis for “Spiritual Eyes”:

Spiritual Eyes is a captivating tale about an accomplished ballerina living in the bustling metropolis of New York City. Kai suddenly finds her self in the face of adversity when she has a life altering encounter with a man whom she despises on the happiest day of her life. Kai Valentine's chance meeting with Roman, an infamous neighborhood gangster, forces her to implement the Biblical principal of “love thy neighbor” and challenges her faith and perception of the frail human condition. Will Kai Valentine’s life ever be the same after her unexpected encounter with Roman?

Author’s Notes from “Spiritual Eyes”:

Spiritual Eyes is the first narrative in a series of inspirational novellas exploring the spiritual core of the human condition.As contemporary Christians it can become quite challenging to reside in a society that perpetually contradicts the principles of Jesus Christ. And apply His message to our daily lives; while sharing His love with those within our surroundings.Jesus did not limit His message to the confines of the synagogue. He revealed His beautiful gift of love and redemption to the masses.While ministering in various unconventional settings, Jesus received harsh criticism for associating with the dubious characters of society. And yet, he continued to graciously bestow healing to those who were possessed by evil spirits, the crippled and maimed, the broken in spirit, and those laden with disease.

With great authenticity and sincerity Jesus revealed His plan for eternal life and refuge from a world filled with darkness and despair. As a result, Jesus’ message became tangible and relevant to the daily lives of His followers.

The main character in Spiritual Eyes is suddenly confronted with the unexpected challenge of applying the Biblical principal of “Love thy neighbor” with someone she despises.Many of us are presented with similar dilemmas within our own life’s journey.Our neighbor may be the annoying tenant in our apartment building, our colleagues, classmates, a member in our church congregation, or someone within our own family.

Our Heavenly Father has described us as the salt and light of the world. (Matthew 5:13, 14)We must remember why Jesus Christ came to this dying world, and embrace the perfect demonstration of love He shared with those who had been forgotten.As God’s children He has placed a special, heavenly gift within us to share with this world. Let us keep His commission in our hearts and minds as we continue to persevere through our daily existence.
