His Wisdom
If someone came to you and asked, “what is the desire of your heart?” What would you request? Would your request be to travel the world? Win the lottery? A new car? Perfect health or plastic surgery?
King Solomon was asked this very question; when God appeared to him in a dream. Solomon’s answer could have been more wealth, protection from his adversaries, or an abundance of new territory. Instead, King Solomon asked God for wisdom; a “discerning heart”, so he could rule effectively over his kingdom. And have the knowledge to govern his people; with the judgment to recognize a sound decision; versus a bad decision.
How many of us seek wisdom and discernment? And if we did, what type of impact would it have on our relationships between our spouses, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and even our enemies?
The success of our life’s journey depends on our ability to incorporate God’s wisdom into the fabric of our very existence.

1 Kings 4:29-34 (New American Standard Bible)
29Now (A)God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, (B)like the sand that is on the seashore.
30Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all (C)the sons of the east and (D)all the wisdom of Egypt.
31For (E)he was wiser than all men, than (F)Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, (G)Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was known in all the surrounding nations.
32(H)He also spoke 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005.
33He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even to the hyssop that grows on the wall; he spoke also of animals and birds and creeping things and fish.
34Men (I)came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
